Rhinoplasty Results From The Sandel Center

If you are unhappy with the appearance of your nose, then rhinoplasty may be the solution for you. Rhinoplasty aims to help patients who have a nose that is too large for their face or have an enlarged nasal bone or hump deformity. Cosmetic rhinoplasty will help your nose look smaller, softer and more symmetric to better fit your face.

Drs. Sandel and Metcalfe provide their patients with exceptional care in a relaxing, state-of-the-art environment. Dr. Wheeler has performed many rhinoplasty procedures and is a specialist in nose surgery. Patients who want to attain a youthful, natural appearance can turn to rhinoplasty for effective results.

At the Sandel Center, Drs. Sandel and Metcalfe aim to create a natural look that will not draw attention to the nose. Based on your personal cosmetic goals, most patients will undergo an open rhinoplasty. This procedure takes an external approach for precise and superior results. A closed rhinoplasty is generally used for minor changes with incisions made on the inside of the nose.

Typically rhinoplasty is performed under general anesthesia by a board certified anesthesiologist. Depending on which procedure type is performed, Dr. Wheeler will make an incision on the inside of the nose or between the nostrils. This allows Dr. Wheeler  to reshape the nose by removing, rearranging or adding to the nose structure. After the reshaping process, Dr. Wheeler will shape the tissues according to the new structure and close the incision.

After treatment, a splint is applied to aid in the support and proper healing of your nose and is usually removed within one week. Many patients return to work as soon as the splint is removed; however it is possible to return sooner. Bruising and swelling is common after surgery and will decrease slowly with full healing occurring in as little as one month and generally no longer than three months.
